Moldova's temperate-continental climate supports several fruit-tree species. Here's an overview of the four we work with most.
Moldova has a temperate-continental climate, with cold winters and warm summers β conditions that support several fruit-tree species, each with its own requirements. At G.T. Apple
Apple is probably the most climate-tolerant species in Moldova, adapting well to most soil types. It's the most common choice for home orchards. See our apple tree varieties β
Plum
Plum tolerates cold winters well and adapts to a wider range of soils, including heavier ones. A traditional, hardy species with consistent cropping. See our plum tree varieties β
Apricot
Apricot has more specific requirements β well-drained soil and a sunny position sheltered from cold currents during blossom β but, planted correctly, adapts well in many parts of Moldova, including Orhei district. See our apricot tree varieties β
Cherry
Cherry prefers well-drained soils and gives some of the earliest fruit of the season. The trees are long-lived, with production over many years, but need enough space for the crown to develop. See our cherry tree varieties β
