Idared is an American apple cultivar, bred from a cross of Jonathan and Wagener, widely grown across Eastern Europe for its good cold hardiness and long storage life.
Fruit
Large fruit, red-striped over a greenish-yellow background, with firm, juicy flesh and a balanced sweet-tart flavour.
Approximate ripening period
Late autumn / winter variety — among the last picked in the season.

A vigorous, productive tree with good cold hardiness, which is why it's widely grown in regions with cold winters.
