Golden Delicious is one of the best-known apple varieties worldwide, discovered in West Virginia, USA, in the late 19th century.

Yellow-green fruit with sweet, juicy flesh that's crisp at harvest.
Approximate ripening period
Autumn variety (mid-to-late season).
Tree characteristics
A moderately vigorous, productive tree; its blossom is a well-known good pollinator for many other apple varieties. In humid conditions it can be more prone to apple scab (Venturia), a generally well-documented trait for this variety.
