Čačanska Najbolja is a Serbian plum variety, bred by crossing Wagenheim with Požegača at the Čačak Fruit Research Institute (crossed in 1961, released in 1975).
Fruit
Large, round fruit with firm, juicy flesh and a sweet-tart flavour, suited to fresh eating, drying and processing (including plum brandy).
Approximate ripening period
Summer — ripens about a week before Stanley (mid-August, per the originating source).
Tree characteristics
A variety documented as tolerant to Plum Pox virus (Sharka) — relevant to the orchard's long-term health.
